Overview

The R/V Point Sur is a research vessel owned by the University of Southern Mississippi and operated by the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON). Point Sur can support various oceanographic research needs such as wet and dry lab use, buoy deployment and recovery, and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations. Typical research voyages are supported by up to 24 total staff and crew, can last up to 21 days, and can cover up to 6,800 nautical miles.
